Overview

myBusinessCourse is a digital platform to help students learn accounting. It provides digital learning content and assessment intended to complement textbook and classroom instruction. It increases student readiness with author-created tools to learn, practice, and master key accounting concepts. myBusinessCourse integrates with Canvas and provides services such as single-sign-on, link to assignments and resources in myBusinessCourse form your third-party course in Canvas, and automatically sync gradebooks. This instruction will guide you on how to integrate myBusinessCourse with your Canvas course and how to link myBusinessCourse content and grade with your Canvas.

Integration Best Practices

  • If you copied a previous Canvas course, make sure you have removed all MBC assignment links in your new Canvas course before integrating.
  • Any assignment setting changes (number of attempts, open/close dates, etc.) should be made in myBusinessCourse, as these will carry over to Canvas.
  • Any gradebook setting changes (weights, dropping, etc.) should be made in Canvas.

Enable MyBusinessCourse in Canvas

  • Navigate to Settings [1] from Canvas course navigation menu.
  • Click Navigation [2] tab.

  • Drag and drop myBusinessCourse link [3] to the top list.
  • Click Save[4].

Pair myBusinessCourse with Canvas

  • Click myBusinessCourse link from Canvas course navigation menu.

  • Login myBusinessCourse.

  • Once myBusinessCourse loads, select a course.

  • You will be prompted to select a section and confirm the integration. If all the information looks correct click the Yes, Integrate Now button.

  • Canvas will ask you to authorize the myBusinessCourse App. Click the Authorize button.

  • If the integration is successful, a green check mark will appear. The integration is now completed.

  • From your Canvas course, click on the Assignments link in your side navigation. You will see your assignments listed under the myBusinessCourse assignment groups.
