Overview


Panopto allows faculty, students and staff to record videos and screen captures on their computer then upload it to and stream it from an online location.  It is the SPU supported tool for lecture capture. For more information about Panopto and how to use it, please visit the Technology Service Catalog.

Some additional Panopto features are:

  • Captioned videos using automatic speech recognition technology.
  • Video indexing for improved searching.
  • Timed discussions and notes.
  • Live stream capabilities.

Panopto is also integrated with Canvas; videos can be embedded into course content pages, discussions, assignments, or quizzes. Additionally, videos can be or inserted as an item into a module group.

This software is available to all current faculty, staff, and students at SPU.
