SmartEvals (Student Feedback)

Overview

SmartEvals is a web-based application used to gather student feedback on courses, instructors, and academic advisors at SPU.

Administrated and configured by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, SmartEvals administers student feedback surveys at the conclusion of each term. Survey questions are customized by OIE and results are managed and released by SmartEvals to individual faculty, departmental chairs/deans, and OIE. The data gathered by SmartEvals is used internally by each department at SPU to improve courses and instruction.

SmartEvals can be accessed by students and faculty via Canvas.

Getting Started

By default, all students are surveyed for course & instructor feedback at the conclusion of every term. In addition, students are prompted to provide feedback on their faculty advisor (usually a faculty member in their field) at the conclusion of Spring quarter. This process is automated and no action is required from faculty or students to initiate surveys.

Faculty can log on to SmartEvals to view survey questions, add course or faculty-specific questions to the surveys pertinent to them, view survey results, and more.

Students can log on to SmartEvals to fill out surveys.
