Classroom Audio Distortion
Problem
The audio from the classroom podium sounds distorted
Solution
If you are using VLC player:
check the program volume (lower right-hand corner). Currently (as of the time this FAQ is being written) it is set to default to 200%. This will boost all volume output levels by a factor of two, which means that levels already over the 50% threshold will max out the system volume, causing distortion. This can be a useful feature when playing audio or video where the sound is too quiet and needs to be boosted, but generally you will want the program volume set to 100%.
If you are not using VLC player:
There may be something incorrectly configured incorrectly in/on the podium audio hardware. Call the Help Desk at (206) 281-2982.
