Display Settings and Themes
Overview
Display Settings and Themes allow customizing the visual appearance and layout of your desktop environment. Explore these settings to tailor your Windows 11 experience, adjusting display preferences, themes, and personalization to suit your needs.
Accessing Display Settings
Open Settings:
Click on the Start button in the center of the taskbar.
Select the Gear icon to open Settings.
Navigate to Display:
Click on System within the sidebar.
Select Display.
Display Configuration
Adjusting Screen Resolution:
In the Display section, find the Resolution dropdown menu.
Select the desired screen resolution.
Orientation and Multiple Displays:
Customize screen orientation
landscape
portrait
Configure multiple displays if more than one monitor is connected.
Night Light
Reducing Blue Light:
Toggle Night Light on within the Night Light section.
Adjust Night Light settings to reduce blue light and minimize eye strain.
Adjusting Brightness and Contrast
Brightness and Color:
Scroll down to find options for adjusting brightness, contrast, and color settings.
Themes and Personalization
Navigate to Personalization:
In the Settings app, click on Personalization in the sidebar.
Background and Lock Screen
Changing Background:
Under Background, choose a background image for your desktop.
Customize background settings, such as fit (Fill, Fit, Stretch, Tile, Center).
Lock Screen:
Customize the lock screen background.
Choose apps to show quick status updates on the lock screen.
Themes and Colors
Selecting Themes:
Under Themes, choose a pre-installed theme or customize your own.
Select background images, colors, and sounds.
Accent Colors:
Adjust the system accent color under Colors.
Choose a predefined color or create a custom color scheme.
Dark Mode and Light Mode
Toggle Between Modes:
In the Colors section, choose between light mode and dark mode.
Dark mode provides a darker interface for low-light environments.
Desktop Icons
Show or Hide Icons:
Under Desktop icon settings, choose which icons are displayed on your desktop.
