The program is simple to install, easy to use and always up to date with the latest technology from Microsoft. It's also easy to tell if your PC is secure - green = good to go!
How To
- Go to the Security Essentials website and click the Download Now button.
- Select Run (you may be prompted twice to choose Run) and follow the installation wizard.
- The installation wizard will check to make sure you have a genuine copy of Windows prior to installation.
Uninstall Previous Versions of Antivirus Software
It is important to remove previous versions or other versions of Antivirus Software before initiating a new installation. Multiple instances of the same type of program may cause the applications or computer to crash as well as run slowly. Make sure you have successfully uninstalled previous versions, as well as any trial versions, before downloading software from Microsoft.
