IPEVO Document Camera

In the simplified podium classrooms, the document camera is connected directly into the podium PC or laptop connection hub, instead of being its own input. This page will walk you through its software and how to use it in video conferencing applications as well.

You do not need to download the software if you would like to solely use it within conferencing software, like Zoom or Teams. Scroll to the Use as a Conference/Video Camera section below for more info.

How to Download the Software (for laptop-only classrooms)

  1. If operating on a Windows device, run Make Me Admin. If on Macintosh, simply move to step 2.

  2. Please navigate to IPEVO Visualizer - Overview | IPEVO

  3. Click Free Download > Select your operating system’s download.

    1. For Mac users, it may take you directly to the App Store. Go ahead and install directly from here if so.

  4. Navigate to your Downloads folder in File Explorer for Windows, or Finder for Mac.

    1. It may take a few minutes to download.

  5. Right-click the .zip file to open > double-click on the installer file inside that folder to begin the install.

    1. You can also right-click on the installer file and select Install from the list

  6. Click Next through the prompts and allow install.

  7. Let it run and click Finish when prompted.

Use as a Docking Camera

  1. Turn on the camera by sliding the power switch down until you see the green marking underneath. You will see a green light turn on above the Light button

  2. Open the Visualizer software on the PC or your laptop

  3. From here, you can:

    1. Zoom in and out:

       

    2. Rotate the image:

  • Drag the smaller black circle around the larger white circle to rotate

    c. Distort the image horizontally or vertically:

  1. From the menu icon on the top left, you can change/select:

    1. Resolution

    2. Exposure

    3. White Balance

    4. Select Which Camera

    5. Focus

    6. Video Filters

    7. Gridlines

    8. Freeze Live Image

    9. LED Light on/off

  2. On the physical Doc Cam itself, there are buttons with some of the functions listed above:

    1. Light

    2. Filter

    3. Rotate

    4. Zoom+

    5. Zoom-

    6. Exposure+

    7. Exposure-

    8. Focus/ AF-Lock

    9. Power

Use as a Conference/Video Camera

Teams

  1. Open Teams and click on the … in the top right corner > Settings

  2. Select Devices

  3. Change the Microphone from the drop-down menu to the IPEVO VZ-R

  4. Scroll to the Video Settings > change the Camera from the drop-down menu to the IPEVO VZ-R

    1. You can also simply start a video call and change these settings by selecting More … > Settings > Device Settings

  5. Manually rotate the camera up to view you

    1. Use the Rotate setting to flip the camera’s view vertically/horizontally as needed.

Zoom

  1. Open Zoom and click on your profile in the top right-hand corner > Settings

  2. Navigate to the Video section

  3. Select the IPEVO VZ-R from the Camera drop-down menu

  4. Navigate to the Audio section

  5. Select the IPEVO VZ-R from the Microphone drop-down menu

    1. You can also test the mic here by selecting Test Mic

  6. Manually rotate the camera up to view you

    1. Use the Rotate setting to flip the camera’s view vertically/horizontally as needed.
