Overview

Canvas Notifications with default settings can mute some of the most important things that an instructor needs to know. We recommend you choose "notify me right away/immediately" for the following settings to avoid missing out on important notifications from your students, but you are welcome to update them based on your preferences. 

Setting Recommendation:

Below are a list of Canvas notification settings that should be changed to "Notify immediately":

  • Announcement

  • Announcement created by you

  • Late grading

  • Submission comment

  • Conversation message

  • Conversations created by you
