Quiz Question Banks

Create Question Bank

1. In the upper right hand corner of the quiz page, select "Manage Question Banks" under the settings icon.

   1. Open

      

      Manage Question Banks button

2. Select "+Add Question Bank" from the sidebar options, enter a name for the bank and press enter to save.

3. Click the name of your new question bank to enter it.

4. Create questions in the bank.

Create Quizzes with Question Banks

Using One Question

You can use any one or combination of questions from a question bank in one or more of your quizzes. To use a particular question from a question bank in a quiz:

1. From the quiz editor, go to the Questions tab.

2. Scroll to the bottom and select the Find Questions button.

3. Choose which question bank you want to use a question from.

4. Check the box next to the question you want to use. You can also choose to add this question to a question group at this time.

5. Select "Add Selected Questions".

Using Multiple Questions

You can also pull multiple questions from a question bank into a quiz. If you want to randomize the order in which students are given questions in a test, create the questions in a question bank and have them pulled into a quiz. This will create a quiz that randomly chooses the indicated number of questions from the question bank:

1. From the quiz editor, go to the Questions tab.

2. Scroll to the bottom and select the +New Question Group button.

3. Title the group, select the number of questions to be pulled from the question bank and the number of points each will be worth.

4. Select the "Link to a Question Bank" option to link to a bank.

5. Select "Create Group".

Importing Question Banks

Importing question banks can be an effective way to share questions with other instructors to use the overlapping questions in multiple courses. See this page for more information on importing course content. Choose to "select specific content" and import only the question banks.
