Find a MAC address (Windows)

If you are having network connection issues, CIS may ask you for the MAC address of your device to help troubleshoot the issue.

  1. Open the Start Menu.
  2. Type in cmd.exe (Windows will automatically start searching when you begin typing)
  3. Click on cmd.exe. A black command prompt box will open
  4. In the command prompt window, type ipconfig /all and press Enter.
  5. Look for the section labeled Wireless LAN Adapter (or Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection if you are connected via Ethernet cord).

  6. Your device’s MAC address is listed next to Physical Address and it will be in the form xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

MAC addresses are unique identifiers for a network interface. They will be different for wireless or wired interfaces on any device, including gaming devices
