The FCA will communicate with their assigned students’ preceptor(s) via e-mail or phone.   

• At the beginning of the quarter​ 
• During the middle of the quarter 
  • Site visit or
  • Communicate via e-mail or phone if not making a visit to that site​ 
• At the end of the quarter 

 In these communications, the FCA will: 

• Act as a representative of SPU School of Nursing to the preceptor and clinical site 
• Offer support and feedback to enhance the preceptor's functioning and the quality of the instruction to the student.  
• Keep abreast of student progress throughout the quarter.

Dear Dr. __ , 

Thank you so much for precepting student.  

I am student’s Faculty Clinical Assessor this quarter.  I am reaching out to introduce myself and to see how student is doing.  Do you have any concerns about his/her clinical skills or professionalism?  

I plan to make a site visit later this month.  I will coordinate with student to come on a day and time that works best for you and the clinic.
