This guide is intended for individuals wishing to connect to Citrix through an OSX Public Computer.

How to Connect to Citrix on an OSX Public Computer

  1. Go to: http://citrix.spu.edu

  2. Log in with your SPU username and password


  3. The first time you log in, you will be prompted to download a client to make Remote Access work properly on your computer

  4. Check the box saying "By selecting the check box..." and click Download


  5. A Citrix online plug-in setup file will be download. Open this file.

  6. You will begin the setup for Citrix. Select the option to Install Citrix Online Plug-in.pkg


  7. Select Continue and follow the on screen instructions to finalize the setup


  8. Once setup has finished, click Continue


  9. You will then be directed to the Citrix Applications Page


  10. Descriptions of application icons:
    • Microsoft Office 2010: Access to Office programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel, etc. 
    • My Work Documents: Within here are your files/folders from your SPU My Documents folder
    • Departmental File Share: Access to Matthew and department files
    • SPSS 18: Opens SPSS
    • My Work Desktop: Allows to you remotely connect to your SPU computer. Enables you to control your SPU machine as if you were physically logged into it. You will need to know the name of your office computer. To find the computer name, look for the computer icon on your desktop. The name will be listed in parenthesis.
       - (Note: your SPU machine must be powered on and connected to SPU's network for this function to work)
    • INB: Opens INB
    • EMS: Opens the EMS client
    • Raisers Edge: Opens Raisers Edge
    • Talisma: Opens the Talisma client

  11. When you click on an application icon, you may be prompted to allow the plugin to run. Select Always run on this site
