System Requirements

Below is a list of the basic settings and systems needed in order to use Zoom:

Tablet and Mobile Devices

Zoom is available on the following mobile devices:

  • Surface Pro 2 running Win 8.1
  • Surface PRO 3 running Win 10
  • iOS and Android devices

Zoom Pro account validation

Validate if your zoom account type is Pro by ensuring:

  • When you click your icon in the desktop app (in the upper right-hand corner) you see your initials or picture, and it says "Pro" not "Basic"(tick)

  • Your Zoom integration with Canvas works. (tick)
  • You do have the option to do cloud recordings.(tick)

Zoom Roles

There are multiple roles available for a meeting - host, co-host, alternative hosts, and participants.

Host - The user that scheduled the meeting. They have full permissions to manage the meeting. There can only be one host of a meeting.

Co-hosts - The co-host Shares most of the controls that hosts have - manage the administrative side of the meeting, such as managing attendees. The host must assign a co-host during the meeting. Co-hosts cannot start a meeting. If a host needs someone else to start the meeting, they can assign an alternative host.

Alternative HostShares the same controls as co-hosts, but can also start the meeting. Hosts can assign alternative hosts when they schedule a meeting.
