An application to graduate is required to have your degree conferred. Applying to graduate is a separate process from signing up for commencement activities, and those who have applied to graduate will receive follow up communications from the Office of the Registrar around commencement activities. While participation in commencement activities (Hooding and Commencement) is optional, applying to graduate is required for the School of Education to award your degree.

Registration for Spring Quarter opens Monday, February 24th and will remain open through Tuesday, April 1st. Additional registration information is available here. Upcoming holidays and other important dates are available in the University Calendar

Graduating Students: Review Your Degree Check!

Now is the time to have a look at your degree check in Banner to make sure you are on track to graduate in the term you selected. Please note that your degree audit is based off of the Catalog requirements for the program and term you were admitted. This may mean there are some substitutions or equivalencies that need to be noted in Banner to complete your record.

Please look at your degree check and let Sarah Kirschner know of anything that looks amiss. She will work with each of you to ensure your degree check accurately reflects your progress and that you are on track to earn your degree.

Prayer Requests

The SOE wants to support you on your academic journey, and that includes praying for you through your studies. Please let us know below how we can be praying for you. This form is completely anonymous, and you may submit a prayer request at any time.

From Dietrich Bonhoeffer's Psalms: the Prayer Book of the Bible

"Lord, teach us to pray!" So spoke the disciples to Jesus...the disciples want to pray, but they do not know how to do it...If [Jesus Christ] takes us with him in his prayer, if we are privileged to pray along with him, if he lets us accompany him on his way to God and teaches us to pray, then we are free from the agony of prayerlessness. But that is precisely what Jesus Christ wants us to do. He wants us to pray with him and to have us pray with him, so that we may be confident and glad that God hears us." (pp. 9-11)

In this moment Jesus gives the disciples the Lord's Prayer, beginning with "our father." Not your father, or my father, "our father." The father of Jesus is the father of each of us. When we pray the words "our father," Jesus prays with us. These words are his, and because we pray with him, we never pray alone.
