School of Education Scholarships

Students admitted to a graduate program in the School of Education may apply for internal scholarship funding on an annual basis. The scholarship application (one application for all scholarships) opens in February and closes in June of each year for the upcoming academic year. Funding is very limited. More information can be found here

General requirements to qualify for a scholarship from the School of Education include the following.

  • Be admitted to a School of Education graduate degree or certification program.
  • Be enrolled at least half time (3 credits) each quarter during the academic year (Autumn, Winter, Spring).
  • Maintain all graduate student requirements for continuation in the program.
  • Demonstrate financial need.

Some scholarships have additional requirements, which are noted on the scholarship page.

Funding is provided for Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters. Those who are approved for scholarship funding will be notified through their student accounts, generally in August.

Outside Funding

The Financing Your Graduate Education page also lists numerous outside funding sources, organized by program/subject area.

Student Financial Services

Most students fund their graduate degree through unsubsidized federal loans. Student Financial Services has a site devoted to graduate students. Please read the information here carefully.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships (part-time employment) are arranged through the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs and are not considered part of your financial aid award. You must be admitted to a graduate or doctoral program in the School of Education to qualify. Doctoral students receive priority for these positions, but master's students are also encouraged to apply.

Applications are now being accepted for two open positions (a general GA position and a budget support position) for the 2021-2022 academic year.  Please contact Megan Hamshar for an application.
