How to Complete Open Enrollment
The Open Enrollment period for the coming 1/1/2024 - 12/31/2024 plan year will be from October 23rd to November 3rd. Please follow the instructions below to ensure that all desired changes are submitted before 5pm on November 3, 2023.
If you are adding any dependents to coverage at Open Enrollment, please follow all instructions below carefully, extra steps are needed to ensure dependents are added to the system.
If you experience any difficulties with the system or have any questions, please contact the Office of Human Resources at (206) 281-2809 or hr@spu.edu.
You MUST make a change to your voluntary life through one of the Unum/Colonial Life representatives on campus during open enrollment this year as we are switching carriers for our voluntary life insurance. If no change is made, your current voluntary life plan will terminate on 1/1/2024. The new carriers for life insurance are Unum/Colonial Life and we will have representatives on campus 10/23-11/3 to assist you in enrolling in voluntary life insurance as well as any other voluntary benefits that may be suited for you and your family. During open enrollment any benefits eligible employee may get a guaranteed issue policy of $200,000 for themselves, guaranteed issue for their spouse of $25,000 and guaranteed issue for dependent children of $10,000.

Changing Dependent Coverage

- At the top of the page, you will see the "Beneficiaries and Dependents Information" section. - Select the checkbox under "Choose Benefit" for the correct dependent.
- If you are adding a dependent to your coverage, enter 07/01/2021 into the "Begin Date" field.

- When all of your dependents' information has been verified, each dependent's benefits coverage should be listed:
