This page is intended to be an overview for DNP Scholarly Project Chairs at Seattle Pacific University.  The quarters and courses listed below are based on typical student progression but may vary if a student's project is altered or delayed.

Autumn Quarter

NUR 7995 DNP Scholarly Project Proposal (3 cr)

NUR 7995 course faculty will give a letter grade for the work that was accomplished this quarter.  If a student needs to be given a G or I grade, the student cannot register for NUR 7996 until their grade has been changed to a letter grade. The Faculty Chair's role in NUR 7995 is primarily as consultant and coach.  

Faculty Chair Tasks

  • Give feedback on student proposal paper throughout quarter, prior to oral presentation through grading function on Canvas assignment.
  • Attend/view student proposal presentation.
  • Sign off on proposal paper prior to implementation. (Reader must also sign off.)
  • Sign off on IRB application prior to student submission.
  • Give permission to register for NUR 7996 when student is eligible.

Winter Quarter

NUR 7996 DNP Scholarly Project  (2 cr)

Faculty Chair Tasks

  • Give feedback and mark completeness for all assignments in Canvas.
  • Enter a course grade for the student:
    • Give a G grade until the entire DNP Scholarly Project has been completed.
    • If the student has not make sufficient progress according to Canvas rubrics give the student a No Pass grade.
  • Give permission to register for NUR 7996 when student is eligible.

Spring Quarter

NUR 7996 DNP Scholarly Project  (2 cr)

Faculty Chair Tasks

  • Give feedback and mark completeness for all assignments in Canvas.
  • Enter a course grade for the student:
    • Give a G grade until the entire DNP Scholarly Project has been completed.
    • If the student has not make sufficient progress according to Canvas rubrics give the student a No Pass grade.
  • Give permission to register for NUR 7996 when student is eligible.

Summer Quarter

NUR 7997 DNP Scholarly Project Completion (1 cr)

Faculty Chair Tasks

  • Give feedback and mark completeness for all assignments in Canvas.
  • Enter a course grade for the student:
    • Give a G grade until the entire DNP Scholarly Project has been completed.
    • If the student has not make sufficient progress according to Canvas rubrics give the student a No Pass grade.
  • Attend DNP Scholarship Day to watch Poster Presentation
  • Complete DNP Scholarly Project Completion Approval form
