Doctoral students take two comprehensive exams covering foundations and research coursework. Students can take either exam on any date. Comprehensive exams are held once a month, on set Fridays.

Exams will be held online via Zoom for the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic year. Zoom exams take place from 9:00am-1:00pm and will utilize a stagger start for multiple test-takers. Tentatively, starting in Autumn quarter, exams will resume their normal schedule on campus and will take place from 8:45pm-12:45pm in the room noted in the sign-up form.

Test takers must have Microsoft Office, including Word, installed on their computers, as well as a stable internet connection (for Zoom exams). Adobe Acrobat is recommended for Zoom exams.

Reminders are sent out one week prior to the exam. Deadline to sign up is one week in advance of the exam, and cancellations must be received at least four days in advance.
