Overview


 

This document will walk you through how to share files from online locations, such as Dropbox, and OneDrive for Business, and link them into a WordPress blog so the files can be viewed online through a web browser instead of downloaded to a local computer.

 

 

OneDrive for Business

  1. Go to OneDrive for Business and sign into Office 365.
  2. Go to the App launcher
  3. Click on OneDrive
  4. Click on the upload link or drag files into the browers to upload Files, etc. 
    (These files should be private unless manually shared).

Sharing Files:

  1. Click on Shared or Only You from the sharing column.

  2. Select Invite people and enter their emails if you want to share with people who are not in your organization. 
  3. Click Share

DropBox

Sharing Files:

Method 1: Share File Directly Though Dropbox from Windows computer

  1. Install the Dropbox desktop app to computer
  2. Select share after right-clicking on the file/folder
  3. Click on Can View
  4. Enter the email address or name of the receiver. 
  5. Click Invite


Method 2: Create a shared link from a Windows computer

  1. Install the Dropbox desktop app to computer
  2. Select More after right-clicking on the file
  3. Choose Copy Dropbox link
  4. Copy the link to insert into the Wordpress blog, email, etc. 

Or

  1. Install the Dropbox desktop app to computer
  2. Click Share after right-clicking on the file
  3. Click Create link
  4. Click Copy link
  5. Copy the link to insert into the Wordpress blog, email, etc.
