Overview

It is important for Professors to stay on top of the content they are willing to share with students in their courses. Many find it helpful to use the Canvas checklist while others may simply find it helpful to know how to make everything available to their students at once. Below we will show how to access the Canvas checklist as well as how to manually make the course content accessible in one step.

Accessing the Canvas Checklist

  1. In the Main Homepage of the Course, select the tab "Course Setup Checklist" (This is located on the right side of the homepage screen.)

Making the Course Accessible

Instructors tend to quickly learn how to create assignments, modules, etc. But, they forget to make this content available to students. Below are instructions as to how to make content accessible to students:

  1. Go to the main course screen homepage.
  2. Click on the "Publish" cloud (Located towards the top right corner of the Canvas screen called "Course Status". This is next to the red button "Unpublished"

Making Individual Content Accessible

Sometimes instructors do not wish to make all the content in a course available at once.

To make certain assignments, modules, etc. available and keep the rest of the content hidden:

  1. Go to the content page (Assignments, modules, etc)
  2. Click on the "Publish" cloud located towards the right side of the screen. (This gray cloud should turn green)
