Overview

There are a number of ways to include videos in a Canvas course. Canvas has a feature in the content editor that allows users to film videos or audio clips, as well as to upload pre-existing clips. Panopto is also integrated with Canvas, so video and audio clips made on that platform can be viewed in a Canvas course.

To ensure accessibility for all students, make sure that all videos being used in your Canvas courses have captions.

While you can create videos using Canvas' record feature, ETM recommends usingĀ Panopto instead for the creation of course videos and hosting.

If you choose to use Canvas as the creation tool, you may run out of space in your course for all of your course content. For more detail on how to create video and audio recordings in Canvas, click here.
