Benefit Rates
Benefit Rates
Introduction
Benefit Rates are applied to salary dollars as an estimation of our benefit costs. Departments are not responsible for benefit allocation accounts (6034x or 64121), but will find the rates helpful in determining the cost of hiring for a new position or for considering reorganizations.
Unlike salary budgets, benefit budgets do not use activity codes. However, both salary expenses and benefit allocations (hitting actuals, based on salaries paid) do use activity codes.
