What is Azure MFA?

This tool is in pilot testing and will eventually replace Duo Two-Factor Authentication.  If you have not received a communication from CIS about Azure MFA, please do not proceed further.  Any questions or concerns you have can be addressed by reaching out to the CIS HelpDesk at help@spu.edu.

Azure MFA is a multifactor authentication method from Microsoft. Multifactor authentication protects accounts against unauthorized logins by requiring an additional authorization layer in addition to a username and password. The extra layer is often a mobile app that is registered ahead of time or a passcode that is texted or called. With Azure MFA, SPU accounts will be further protected against malicious logins that result from phishing attacks or other forms of cyber scams.
