Adobe Premier Rendering Crash

Some Windows computers crash Adobe Premier when importing media. This guide provides instructions on changing default settings to resolve the issue. 

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log in to the Windows computer with your SPU credentials
  2. Click on the Start button
  3. Locate and open Adobe Premiere.
  4. Create a New Project
  5. Name the project and verify the location is on the correct hard drive.
  6. Under the Video Rendering and Playback setting choose Mercury Playback Engine Software Only as the Renderer.
  7. Select OK and the new project launches.
  8. Immediately Save (CTRL + S or File Menu) the project.
  9. Select File and Project Settings and General...
  10. Confirm the Renderer setting stuck. If no, choose Mercury Playback Engine Software Only again.
  11. Select OK.
  12. Save the project again
  13. Now try to import media footage.
