At the time of your scheduled SPU computer upgrade you will have the option to purchase your used device as a personal computer and at times, other surplus equipment when it is available.

Conditions of Purchasing Your Used SPU Computer
If the position will not be refilled or rehired, or the computer is deemed eligible for replacement by CIS, then the device may be eligible to be purchased by the departing individual.
When a faculty or staff person purchases their former SPU computer or a projector to use as a personal device, the expectation is that it will no longer be used in their capacity as an SPU employee. The In other words, the device is no longer supported by the University. For This means that for computers, a new operating system will be installed, institutional data is removed, and the hard drive is decrypted. SPU devices that have been purchased as personal devices may no longer be connected to SPU resources, and CIS will treat the device as such upon point of purchase. Initiating the Process of Purchasing Your Used SPU Computer/Equipment
To express interest in purchasing your device and to kick off initiate the process, first and foremost, reach out to the CIS Help Desk by emailing help@spu.edu to open a ticket. The Help Desk HelpDesk staff will work with you our budget manager to determine the cost of purchasing to purchase your device, acquire if its a nonstandard device, otherwise see above. HelpDesk Technicians will also assist with acquiring the necessary information and , signatures , and scheduling an appointment at the Help Desk HelpDesk to purchase your device.
How to Purchase Your Used SPU Computer
When you come to the CIS Help Desk to pick up your computer, also bring the following:
- Your used laptop & charger.
- A check written out to Seattle Pacific University, or cash in the amount of the purchase price of your computer.
- Make a HelpDesk Ticket.
- Bring device and appropriate power cables.
- A HelpDesk technician will prepare your computer for personal use.
- When the computer is ready, the technician will schedule a pick-up time.
- At the scheduled time, please bring cash or check to pay for the device at its listed sale price.
- Please make out all checks to Seattle Pacific University.
- The technician will also have you fill out and sign an SPU Transfer of Equipment Form.
How to Purchase Other Used Equipment (Projectors)
When you come to the CIS Help Desk to pick up your projector, also bring the following:
- Your used laptop & charger.
- A check written out to Seattle Pacific University, or cash in the amount of the purchase price of your device.
A CIS Help Desk technician will grab a projector for you. They will also provide your payment to the CIS Help Desk Manager.
