Overview & Purpose

The CIS Training Program exists to spread knowledge across campus about the tools available to them and how they can help in each person's work, as well as showing best practices for use of technology to serve our students in the best ways possible.

Presenters for trainings come from all teams within CIS and we welcome partnerships with other departments that would like to provide technology training on an area of expertise for campus.

The CIS Training Commitee (membership at right) are responsible for developing the list of training topics, securing presenters, scheduling, announcing and hosting the CIS Training offerings. If you have any questions, comments or feedback about the CIS Training Program, please contact the members of the committee.

Training

CIS has begun hosting regular formal training sessions as of Fall 2019. Our hope is to provide the most relevant, timely and applicable information to campus about current and future technologies that impact SPU. See below for a listing of currently offered trainings, past trainings, and suggested future topics. If you have additional topics to suggest, please contact the CIS Training Committee (membership at right).

Committee Members:

  • Josh Kanehen, Director, Business Systems
  • Timothy Hisey, HelpDesk Manager
