5.0 Absence and Time Off
In Workday, all types of time off — including vacation, sick time, jury duty, witness duty, bereavement, unpaid time off, and extended leaves of absence (maternity, medical, bonding, etc.) — are grouped under the term "Absence."
This unified approach makes it easier for employees to view, request, and track all types of time away in one place. Whether you need a few hours off to attend an appointment or a longer leave for personal or family reasons, you will use the Absence feature in Workday.
This change in terminology does not affect your eligibility for specific types of leave or time off. It is simply a new, more streamlined way to manage and understand all absences within the same system.
