4.0 Onboarding & Getting Started
Welcome to SPU! We are happy you are here and look forward to working in partnership with you as we engage the culture and change the world together!
Important things to know about:
Get to know Workday! You will be interfacing with Workday a lot and we want you to be familiar with what it offers to our employees. Take a look at the Getting Started job aid for an introduction.
Check out the campus maps.
Learn about parking locations and regulations on campus. Don’t miss the information on carpools, vanpools and ORCA cards!
Check out the SPU dining options to find places to eat and get coffee on campus.
Important things to do:
Set up your user account (SPU username and password). You’ll need your SPU single sign on to access many resources, including Workday for onboarding tasks and Percipio for compliance trainings.
Complete your onboarding tasks in Workday. Here you’ll be entering/verifying personal information, doing your I-9, W-4 and submitting your direct deposit information among other things. While you can complete your I-9 information online, your identification still needs to be verified/inspected by Human Resources (regular faculty and staff), by your department (adjunct faculty), or by Student Employment (student employees). Please do this on or before your first day at SPU.
Complete the required compliance trainings. These are completed through the Percipio platform (see below for access instructions) and must be done by all employees. Please note that these compliance trainings must be completed within your first 10 days of employment. Gaining access and maintaining access to systems depends on these trainings being completed.
Head to the SPU Online Services page
Scroll down to the Employment box and click on Percipio
You will need to sign in with your SPU username/password
Once signed in, you can click on “Launch Compliance Training” or “View Compliance” to get to your specific learning plan where the above trainings should be available to you
If you are a part-time or full-time benefitted employee, enroll in your benefits selections through Workday after your scheduled benefits orientation. HR will schedule this orientation for you, but they are generally held every Monday morning.
Get your Faculty/Staff ID card - obtain from Falcon Card Services, in the Office of Safety and Security. Please follow the instructions on their website to request your card.
