Move OneNote 2016 Notebooks stored on Matthew to Sharepoint
Overview
Due to Microsoft ending Security Updates for OneNote 2016, SPU will be moving to OneNote for Windows 10. In order to use OneNote for Windows 10, all notebooks must be stored on Onedrive or SharePoint. This means all of the notebooks that are stored in department file shares on Matthew must be moved to Departmental SharePoint sites. The instructions below will outline the steps required to migrate OneNote 2016 notebooks to SharePoint.
All notebooks must be moved to SharePoint otherwise the data will be lost as OneNote 2016 will be pulled from all computers on campus and will not be available for download in January 2020

This version of the notebook is only a copy. The original will still exist on Matthew until manually deleted. | |
Delete the original notebook folder and its contents to ensure notebook collaborators are actively using the new instance on SharePoint
As a precaution, you may choose to upload the original notebook to an archive location on your department's SharePoint site before deleting the instance on Matthew. Such an archive should only be temporary and marked for future deletion |
