How Do Students Create Panopto Recording in Canvas Discussion?

Overview
This tutorial will guide you through the process of using Panopto to record a video and embed it in your reply in Canvas Discussion.
Step-by-Step Guide
Navigate to the course where you want to create and share the recording.
Click on the Discussions tab in the course menu.
Select the discussion topic you want to record.
Click Reply, a blank text box will appear.
Look for the icon
in the text box tools bar. Click the icon, it will show Panopto Video [1] as an option.
If you don’t see Panopto Video as an option after clicking the icon , click View All [2]. Then, choose Panopto Video.
Panopto Video pop-up window will show up. Click on the drop down menu [1] to select the folder “My Folder” to record and save your videos. Then click on the Record option [2], you will see the option to record a video using your web browser, or downloading the Panopto Video app to your computer. Choose Launch Capture [3] from the Capture (Browser) option to open Panopto in your browser.
Click Allow when your browser ask for permission to have access to use your camera and microphone for spu.hosted.panopto.com.
Then choose Screens and Apps to share your screen in the recording.
Choose Entire Screen [1] and select the screen you want to include in the recording, then click Share [2].
Click on the record button
to start the recording. Click the button again to stop your recording.
Go back to the Canvas page, click Choose to view the recorded video(s), and select the video you want to share.
Then choose Insert. You will see the selected video show in the reply text box as shown in Figure 7. Once you’re done, click Reply to share your video and response in the Discussion thread.
