Overview
Recording a meeting in Microsoft Teams lets instructors capture sessions for students who could not attend. Once the meeting ends, Teams automatically saves the recording to OneDrive or SharePoint. The recording link can then be shared or embedded in Canvas so students can easily access it anytime.
Record a Meeting in Microsoft Teams
Join the Meeting
After Joining the meeting in Microsoft Teams. On the meeting toolbar, click More (… three dots).
Record and transcribe
Select “Record and transcribe” (1) than select “Start recording”. If you want transcript as well, also click “Start transcription.”
Video and Audio recording
When you start recording, you will have the option to choose between Video and Audio recording or just the Audio recording, click confirm, when done.
Recording is on
A message will appear confirming that Recording is on.
Stop Recording
Conduct your meeting normally. When done, click More ... (1), Select Record and transcribe (2) and Stop recording (3)
Confirmation Message
A message will appear confirming that Recording Stopped
Only meeting organizers and people from the same organization often have permission to record. Students usually cannot record unless enabled by the administrator.
The recording will remain for up to 90 days, If you wish to keep the recording for longer time, than upload it in Panopto or Download the recording on your computer.
