Pending changes for 2020-21
CIS is currently in negotiation with Adobe regarding what offerings will be available for Adobe in 2020-21. If you have questions regarding Acrobat Pro DC for faculty or staff, please contact the CIS Help Desk.
Overview
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is the fully-featured version of Acrobat that allows users to edit PDFs and perform other advanced functionality with PDFs.
Eligibility
Acrobat Pro DC is licensed for use by permanent faculty and staff (excluding adjuncts). Acrobat Pro DC is also installed in some computer labs as part of Creative Cloud, and available for use by anyone with an Adobe ID login (which can be created for free).
SPU Managed Devices
As of 2019, Acrobat Pro requires you to login to use it. If you are prompted to login, follow these instructions: Opening Adobe Software as Faculty/Staff.
If you are not prompted to login, you are likely using an earlier version of Acrobat Pro, which should work fine until at least 2021.
Work-at-Home Use
As an eligible faculty or staff member, you may also install Acrobat Pro on a personal device. Complete the following steps on the computer you would like to install Acrobat Pro on.
- Go to this link: https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/download/acrobat
- Run the downloaded program to install Acrobat DC, and proceed with the installation, logging in with your SPU account as needed.
