For Fall start 2024, the AV systems in OMH109 and EH112 received baseline hardware refreshes and new hybrid features for enhanced functionality.

Essentially, both rooms can now be used for hybrid classes or events, such as conferencing, live-streaming, or recording with new cameras and microphones. You can use these peripherals directly with the in-room PC or through your laptop, by connecting a simple USB.

Replacements & Additions:

New Touch Panel

These replaced the button panels previously mounted below the desk. These are tabletop touchscreens (similar to an iPad) that allow for more control over the room.

New Document Cameras

The new doc cams are lightweight & flexible such that they can be easily moved and rotated as needed.

Speakers

Additional speakers have been installed to enhance the audio.

Microphones

These microphones can be used simultaneously for local voice amplification and hybrid meetings/livestreaming/recording. For the latter, the microphones are available to both your personal laptop and the podium PC when using Zoom, Teams, Panopto, etc.

OMH109 received two microphones for the presenter: a handheld and lapel/beltpack.

EH112 received three microphones for the presenter: a handheld, lapel/beltpack, and gooseneck podium. Additionally, ceiling-mounted boundary microphones were installed to capture audience audio as well.

Camera

These are specifically for hybrid meetings/recording/livestreaming. Each has presets for ease of use, such as auto-tracking the presenter and a wide-angle view of the front of the room. EH112 received an additional camera to capture a view of the audience as well.
