Sitecore Login
- Use a Firefox or Internet Explorer 10 browser when making edits in Sitecore Page Editor.
- Copy the URL http://sitecore-master.spu.edu/sitecore and paste it into your browser's address bar to access the Sitecore login page.
- In the center of the Sitecore login screen, click the Options link near the center of the screen to expand the window. You will see three editing option buttons; click the Page Editor button.
- For the box User Name: Enter ad\ (i.e., find the necessary the backslash directly below your keyboard's "Backspace"), then after ad\, add your Windows username.
e.g.:
User Name: ad\username
Password: Your Windows passwordNavigate to the Catalog
- Now that you are logged in, you should you will see the SPU home page.
- Copy and paste sitecore-master.spu.edu/catalog/undergraduate/20156 into your browser's address bar.
- Click the To view the Page Editor ribbon, click the Home tab in the upper left-hand corner (i.e., it's to the right of the "Save Disk" icon to view the Page Editor Ribbon icon).
- Once there, click "Preview" , which will allow you to use the catalog's left navnavigation.
- Then use Use the left nav, or links with within the pages, to get to go to the page you wish to changeedit.
Make a Quick Change
- Click the "Edit" button , in the Ribbonribbon, which is in the upper left-hand corner of the your browser.
- Click on the content section where you need to make the change, and a box should will appear around the text you clicked on, and make the edit. Make your edit(s).
- Save the changes , by clicking the "Save" icon in the upper left , and preview them by copy and pasting the URL from the address bar corner.
- Now you can choose Preview again to see your changes, or you can paste the URL into a new browser tab or a different browser.
Using the "Rich Text Editor"
- For more advanced edits , like creating -- including to create an external link; uploading , upload and linking link a PDF; or making , or create a bulleted list , -- use the "Rich Text Editor."rich text editor.
- To open the "Rich Text Editor" click on rich text editor, click the paper icon in the upper left of the options tool bar (highlighted i.e., circled below in light orange).
- Make modificationyour edit, like such as adding a link with the "Hyperlink Manager" the hyperlink manager menu option located near the middle of the top row of options (as seen belowcircled below).
- Once you're done with your changes, click "Accept" towards the the Accept button in the lower right of the popup window, then . Then click the "Save" icon.
- Next, click the "My Items" option in the ribbon and click "Unlock All."
Finally, verify modifications your edits in another browser.
Logging Out
- ATTENTION: Before logging out, make sure you have unlocked all of the pages you have edited by clicking the ". Remember, click the My Items" option in the "Home" home ribbon and click "Unlock All."
- Click the "Log Off" button towards toward the right of the options of the "Home" home ribbon to exit Sitecore.
ADVANCED: Updates to Table Data
- If you need to updated data or information that is housed in a table, please open the "Rich Text Editor" for the section that needs updating and choose ; shoose the HTML view, then make the edits within the code.
