Overview

In Windows 11, you no longer need to download software from Software Center and can find and install apps from within Company Portal, as well as the App Store.

With the App Store being a platform where you can discover and install apps external to SPU, Company Portal is where you can install apps internal to SPU such as Adobe Acrobat provided which is provided with the necessary licensing.

Accessing Company Portal

  • Within the search bar, search for Company Portal.

  • For quick access, pin Company Portal to the taskbar.

  • Right-Click on the Company Portal app, Select Pin to taskbar.

Navigating Company Portal

Upon opening Company Portal, you will be greeted with the home screen. Here you are able to view the most recent published apps. You can navigate Company Portal using the following sections:

  • Apps: A library of all apps published by SPU.

  • Apps categories: Browse apps by categories.

  • Search: Utilize the search bar to find specific apps or browse by keywords.

  • Downloads & Updates: A list of all installed apps within Company Portal. Updates can be seen through here.

Downloading and Installing Apps

To download and install apps from Company Portal:

  • Navigate to the app's page selecting the app.

  • Click on the Install button.

  • Once installed, you can access the app through the Start Menu or by searching for it within the search bar in your taskbar.

For quick access to your new apps, you can have the option to pin them within the start menu or taskbar. Simply right-click on the app and select Pin to Start or Pin to Taskbar.


Uninstalling Apps

Open Settings:

  1. Click on the Start button in the center of the taskbar.

  2. Select the Gear icon to open Settings.

Navigate to Installed Apps:

  1. In the Settings app, click on Apps in the sidebar.

  2. Select Installed Apps.

Uninstall App:

  1. Find the app you wish to uninstall.

  2. Click on the Options icon (dots) and select Uninstall.

Settings and Preferences

Company Portal offers settings and preferences that allow you to customize your Company Portal experience. You can access settings by clicking on Settings in the bottom-left corner of the navigational pane.
